About Us

Organization

I Love My Island, Inc. is a non-profit (501(c) 3) organization founded by islanders Lou and Julie Colombo in 2014. Guided by our Board of Directors, our mission is to provide and promote resources for seniors, to sponsor and support a variety of youth activities ranging from academics to athletics, to offer relief to individuals and families in times of crisis, and to collaborate with others to contribute to the welfare of the Merritt Island area. Our foundation’s funding sources include the My Island Thrift Store and individual donors.

Serving the Merritt Island community is the core of our organization, and we are here to help locals in any way we can.

Thrift Store

The My Island Thrift Store is donated-based and located at 245 Crockett Blvd in Merritt Island. Open seven days a week, the store provides full-time employment for up to 10 employees, trains seniors for re-entry into the workplace through partnership programs, extends volunteer hours toward youth programs such as Bright Futures, and offers affordable household goods, furniture, clothing, and home decor to our community.

How You Can Help

I Love My Island, Inc. is deeply appreciative of the help our community extends. If you would like to contribute financially or donate your time, please reach out to us for more information.
