Hope everyone is doing well and continuing to stay safe.  As businesses open up, including churches and restaurants, please use your common sense to stay healthy.

We at I Love My Island, Inc. have continued to be active in the community.  Recently, we have been able to help a woman and her children who moved to escape domestic violence.  She was able to grab clothing and some personal items but that’s not enough to set up an apartment for a family.  BREVARD CARES   worked with the family and then we helped with household items.  Because of YOU – OUR DONORS – the family is settling into their new apartment.

Our Older Islanders will not be attending the Seniors at Lunch program for a while so we are preparing baskets and cards to deliver to them next week.  The Islanders continue to receive food yet isolation and loneliness is the next obstacle to overcome.  We hope to be able to alleviate this a little with our donations.  I’ll keep you updated.

We met our scholarship winner, Carolina Mangru, this week.  Carolina was a graduated from Edgewood.  She has been active in lots of school activities, carried a 4.37 GPA and is headed to Gainsville to major in marketing.

We are so happy to be able to help this young woman attend university!  Again, our donors should be proud of this program.  We will offer the scholarship again for the 20-21 year to a senior from Merritt Island High, Edgewood or Merritt Island Christian.  The scholarship can be applied to a university or trade school.  For more information, watch the Brevard Schools Foundation website.

Thank you for all you do!  Without your support our wowrk in the community could not continue.
