Today we distributed the packages for the home bound and shut in seniors on the island.  Each Holiday bag had a warm lap blanket, non-slip socks, slippers, cookies, candy, a large print book, night lights, a Christmas ornament, hand cream and scented soap.  A hand-made decorative piece made by one of our donors went into each basket with a back-scratcher and other (clocks, puzzles, gloves and more) goodies. A personally signed card with a note of love was also included.   It was a wonderful basket of goodies!  ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROSITY!

I was able to talk a little with many of the seniors.  The smiles!  It was so nice to see the happiness on the faces of each person receiving these gifts.  I wish I could convey the impact of your generosity.  Due to confidentiality, I cannot post pictures or give names but be assured that YOU touched a life today.

Yesterday, I delivered gifts to ALL THE RESIDENTS OF ISLAND HEALTH.  Most of these seniors are without family support and have little.  Your kindness brought tears to the eyes of the heroic health care workers there and smiles to the resident.  Again, YOU made a difference!

Last I did individual deliveries to individuals who could not attend the pick-up at Woody Simpson.  These included some of our seniors most in need.  Before I could even get back to my office I received a message.

“You just brought me a wonderful gift bag.  I want to tell you how much I appreciate all of you for what you have done.  This will be the only thing I receive this holiday and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.  Bless you all.”

I echo that sentiment.  YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF 150  SENIORS TODAY.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you!  Thank you.

Love and Peace,

Carolyn
