August 2019

Thank you to Rosie Lenhart for joining our family of donors.  Rosie helped sponsor furniture for a family in need.  Her donation for a dining table and chairs so the family can eat together every night is much appreciated!

SAVE THE DATE!!!    October 5th is the date for our first Family Fun Run/Walk (5K)

“A Run Through Paradise”

Your journey begins at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church near the Chapel, built in 1888, and still in use.  Up North Tropical Trail under majestic canopies of live oak and pine trees covered in Spanish moss.  Pass Sam’s House, the oldest Brevard County Home and one of the original orange groves.  The final leg takes you around the historic cemetery where many of the island’s pioneer families are buried.

After the run, members of the St. Luke’s family will give tours of the chapel and cemetery.

May 24th marked the first of our “Coffee with Seniors – Be Our Guest” events. We hosted residents from Island Health and Rehabilitation Center for coffee, cupcakes, conversation and shopping. This event brings seniors who are in group living centers to our store, matches each participant with a volunteer who helps them shop and offers an opportunity for socialization. If you would like to volunteer for a future “Coffee” event please call e-mail Carolyn at carolyn.ilmi@yah
